If the valve mechanism is healthy and there is no chronic overheating, an ultrasonic clean is enough. If the valve is worn out or clogs again within a short mileage, a software delete makes more sense. We choose after diagnostics.
A properly tuned software delete will not harm the engine – fuelling maps are corrected so combustion temperatures stay within spec, and the load on the intake manifold and DPF actually goes down. Only a crude delete without remapping is risky.

No. The ECU monitors valve position and air mass – without a remap you will get a fault code, Check Engine and limp mode with reduced power instantly. A blanking plate only makes sense paired with a software delete.
Deactivation is performed via ECU remapping – we disable the EGR valve, adjust fuel maps and recirculation parameters. Error codes are cleared, no Check Engine light appears. The process takes 2–4 hours depending on the model. Before handover we verify smoke levels with Capelec – readings stay within TA limits.
Particulate matter (PM) is a metric measured during vehicle inspection in Latvia. A faulty EGR valve increases soot and particulate emissions, which can exceed the legal limit. After EGR cleaning or software delete, particulate levels return to normal.
