WHAT IS TESTED ON A DIESEL

At inspection, diesel exhaust is measured in one of two ways, depending on the year of the vehicle.

For vehicles from 2013. The device counts solid particles in the exhaust. It immediately reveals a damaged or missing particulate filter.

For vehicles before 2013. Exhaust opacity is measured under sharp acceleration.

A lit engine warning light and emission-system faults are a separate reason to fail.

Do not replace the filter blindly. A test and diagnostics come first – they show the cause.

The same two methods on CSDD-grade equipment. In a few minutes you know whether the car will pass.

We check the filter, pressure sensors, injectors and EGR. Often the filter itself is not the problem.

If the filter is intact but clogged: an on-car flush or an off-car wash.

If the filter element is destroyed: refurbishment with a 3-year warranty on the work and on passing inspection.

Have a smoke or particle test done in advance. At JVK PRO in Riga it costs from €20 incl. VAT and takes a few minutes.

The filter may be cracked, melted or hollow inside. The PN test counts particles and shows it at once, even with no dashboard faults.

Cleaning – from €80, restoration with a 3-year warranty – from €550. A new filter usually costs €1,500–4,000.

A car without a DPF is not intended for public roads and normally fails the particle test. We restore the filter so the car passes legally.
